Shakedown Cruise & Mooring Ball Pickup Skill 

Cruise to South River

When: Thursday April 16th to Friday April 17th

Where: South River – Lukens Cemetery, coordinates: 34.96216, -76.56789 (if the weather is a bit rough, we may move this to Southwest Creek).

This is a second opportunity in April to get out on your boat overnight and make sure all systems are ready for a busy cruising season!  

In addition to testing your boat's readiness, we will have a mooring ball pickup skill available for anyone wishing to test their skills. 

Let's plan on a Potluck social and skill debrief after the exercise.  We will look for folks with roomy boats (perhaps several rafted) to host. 

Hosts Mark and Darla, aboard S/V Paya Breeze, a Hunter 430 with a white Hull, blue canvas and solar panels and radar on a stern-mounted arch, will get to the anchorage around 2 PM.  The skill training will begin at 3 PM with the potluck gathering at 5 PM. We will monitor channel 68. 

Please sign up by Tues. April 10^th so that we can organize the time needed for the drill and get that information out to folks via email.  And if you are considering this cruise, would you please send me a note indicating your interest in the skill training?  This will help us prepare for the event.
